Orange Is The New Black Season 2 Party – An OITNB Crafty Blog Hop

Orange is the New Black is like a total sick pleasure… But I love love love it.

So you can imagine how excited I was when I heard that Netflix was releasing Orange Is The New Black Season 2 on June 6! Not only that but they just announced that Season 3 is coming!!! I think I am gonna have a heart attack!

How about we ball up all this excitement into the Ultimate OITNB Premiere Party! Whether you're watching Season 2 next weekend, doing a marathon party (go on with yo' bad self), or gonna plan a party for Season 3, I've created some great recipes and printables to make your party the ULTIMATE! And ultimately EASY to create 😉

Welcome to the Orange is the New Black Crafty BLOG HOP!! This all came together when I saw JaderBomb talking about finishing up watching Season 1 of OITNB on Facebook. I messaged her and asked if she wanted to do a blog hop. She was in ‘cuz she is cool like that! Then we put a call out for other people to join in. We have a group of some of the raddest bloggers on the planet to share their crafty OITNB ideas with you, from recipes to crafts to wearables and more!

I cannot wait for you to see all of the ideas everyone has to share! Speaking of parties, back to the Ultimate Premiere Party I am putting on..

I made almost all of the decor for this party set up and you can too – it is super easy, super affordable, and what better way to watch Orange Is the New Black than with Orange is the New Black in your house??? These recipes are all for fingerfoods, perfect for watching the show in marathon format.

Here's the guide to everything I made and how you can make it too:

1. OITNB Straw Toppers

I created these printable strawtoppers with OITNB quotes: OITNB Quote Printables (click that link for a how-to blog post with pdf printables you can download). You can use them on straws, to make invitiations, scatter on a table, or string them together to make a banner. I got the orange straws at my local  craft store but you can find them on Amazon as well: Paper Drink Straws Orange 150ct

2. Prison Stripe Cloth Napkins

These napkins are so easy to make. I sewed the napkins myself but you can pick up cloth napkins at local box stores or online at Amazon: LinenTablecloth 17-Inch Polyester Napkins (1-Dozen) White

To make the stripes, you'll need a trash bag, ilovetocreate's Fabric Spray Paint Color: Ashpalt, and ScotchBlue Painter's Tape, Multi-Use, .94-Inch by 60-Yard.

3. Printable OITNB Napkin Rings

Dress up those cloth napkins with these printable OITNB napkin rings with favorite quotes from the show.  OITNB-Premiere-Party-Printables-Hydrangea-Hippo-NAPKIN-RINGS-June-2014 (click here to download)

4.  Orange Blood Drip Tablecloth

I wanted to create a table cloth that I can use other times in the year, like Halloween, so I made this one just orange. It is so easy to make and can be ready in about an hour! You'll need water, a LinenTablecloth 60 x 102-Inch Rectangular Polyester Tablecloth White
and Tulip One-Step Dye Kits- Orange

Here's how I made it:

5.  Taco Night Popcorn

Combine your favorite cheese popcorn with taco seasoning to bring the flavors of taco night to your party! Put a Tablespoon of taco seasoning inside the bag of popcorn, shake, and serve in stamped glassine bags. Add mustaches to the bags in honor of Pornstache ‘cuz he'd love that you were eating out of his bag. Just sayin'…

Supplies:

• Cheese popcorn – either a store bought bag or a microwave popcorn bag
• Taco Seasoning
• Mustache Rollagraph Stamp Wheel by Clearsnap, designed by Jen Goode
• Colorbox Surfacez Multi-Surface Inkpad-Black
• 100pack Glassine Food Packaging Grease Resistant Gusseted Expandable Wax Paper Bags 4 X 2 1/2 X 8 1/2″

Roll the Mustache Rollagraph Stamp Wheel in the Surfacez ink in black to ink the stamp. Then roll across the glassine bag. Repeat until the entire bag is covered with mustaches. The ink dries instantly so they're ready to use right away. Use a scoop to fill the bags with popcorn.

6. Taystee BBQ Breast (on a stick)

Taystee's barbecue sauce story …. Wow. This recipe is all about breasts and barbecue sauce … chicken breast, that is!

7.  Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl Pretzels

Take your fave pretzels and dip them in white or dark chocolate. Let cool. Drizzle the remaining chocolate over the pretzels to create the “swirl”. Cool and serve. Easy peasy!

8.  Olive & Carrot Crudités

This is simple but effective – just line up carrots and olives in a tray for an Orange & Black effect.

9. “Strong Shot At A Twix” Chocolate Shot

Xaver created a mixed drink specifically for OITNB! This drink is based off of Piper saying she has, “a strong shot at a Twix” while on the phone from prison.

10. Namaste Green Tea Lemonade

In honor of Jones, the yoga master, this non-alcoholic drink will keep you going for the whole OITNB Season 2 Marathon! Steep 4 Green Tea bags in 4 Cups of Water. Add 1 cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of honey and mix well. Pour over ice in a pitcher. Add water to fill the pitcher.
