Easy Practical Teacher Gifts

Can you believe there's only about 2 months left in the school year?! It's time to start thinking about end of year gifts for teacher. I recently checked out Darice online and was amazed at the selection and great prices of products on the site! I was able to create 3 easy practical teacher gifts with a box of $40 in craft supplies from the site that they sent to me, with leftovers for more projects to boot!

Teaching can be stressful so I decided to focus on creating a relaxing aromatherapy experience with these teacher gifts. I was pleased to learn that Darice offers a wide variety of aromatherapy oils for use as fragrances for soap making and candle making and for creating reed diffusers. I chose a lavender essential oil because of lavender's calming effect and stress-relieving properties. The gifts I created are a mason jar soap dispenser filled with clear liquid hand soap that I scented with the lavender oil. In a larger purple mason jar, I created a pen holder that can double as a scent diffuser. You can create the pen holder with one mason jar and then use a second mason jar to crate a separate scent diffuser to make this into 2 separate gifts. Use artificial succulents to top both for a calming, pretty display for teacher to enjoy on their desk.

Succulents have been hot for a couple of years and Darice offers a fabulous selection of realistic looking succulent floral picks for about $1-3 each. I decided to do a new take on the traditional “flower pen” and create pens topped with succulents! This is a great project to create for the non-girly girl teacher or for a male teacher. Floral tape, which is typically used to wrap these pens, is sticky so I opted to use this fabulous striped green washi tape by Darice.

As a member of Crafty Hangouts, I created a Google Hangout video for you to watch, showing how to make all 3 of these gifts in less than 15 minutes:

You'll want to order the supplies from Darice now so you'll have time to create your projects. The orders ship fast but you know how it is with Spring break, Easter, and graduation prep, the last day of school will be here before you know it so why not get prepared early?
